missions is...

....using isa 49:1-7 as his sermon text, today in chapel dr. roland werner, german evangelist and pastor-scholar, reminded us that "missions is joy"...it gives us joy and it brings joy to those who hear and receive the gospel news of salvation....sometimes the simple lessons are the best...

...afterward, claire and i had a delicious dinner with a family so dear to us...bayar and his wife yanjaa are godly christians and gifted linguists from mongolia w/ a resilient passion to more accurately translate the mongolian bible for the church...

...as u can see, God has blessed them with beautiful children who fill the house with laughter and love and fascination...mike can't get enough of thomas the train...

....after dinner, we attended another function related to missions emphasis week at gordon-conwell...our radiant friends, mark and alicia, hosted an intimate evening of sharing about and praying for turkey, where they spent their summer....

...the skinny: after spending time with over 30 workers and witnessing firsthand the dynamics of ministry and life in this nation of over 70 million muslim, they reported that God is definitely at work among the turks but much patience, prayer, and perseverance are required as the gospel takes root among generations of muslims who have serious misconceptions of the Christian gospel (a common obstacle in the muslim world)...
