dog ate my homework
...never used that excuse...have you?
...this morning claire and i started the first of ten private japanese lessons for the month of december...these lessons will complement the support we're already receiving from a small crew of language helpers...as we've shared previously, the sum payment for these lessons is an intentional (but, from our end, a totally unexpected) gift from our sponsoring church...join us in praising and thanking God for the generosity and guidance of our church...
...from the outset, our teacher drilled us politely like a librarian but persistently like a football coach...two hours later, our pronunciation was a bit more natural, our vocabulary was a tad improved, our grammar a tick tighter, and our brains just about sapped...
...having said all that, she brings a formal component to our language learning that is much appreciated and needed...
...now we gotta go and figure out how to say "the dog ate my homework" in japanese... : )
