plunge

::: with our friend angelo from kyushu (kumamoto), this afternoon we explored the quaint city of kobe with the newest member of asian access, reiko...

...given the great weather after yesterday's heavy rains, our kobe "plunge" included stops at bookstores, the immigration office, and, to refuel, our favorite ramen shop...

...and the city's flower clock (this being one of the only things she remembers about kobe, reiko really wanted to see this)...



...the flowered clock face above presents a white casper-like ghost flanked by two raindrops...according to reiko, this figure represents a spirit that wards off the rain...

...but today was more about faith stories than the city's sites...how awesome it was to hear reiko share with tears how she feels now that she's realizing her long-awaited dream of coming to japan as a missionary...obviously retiring into the sunset doesn't exist in reiko's book...what a lesson we took away today: as long as God gives us life, we have all the reason and resources to pursue (and plunge into) those dreams...
