sunny sabbath

...raise your hand if you like outdoor sunday service, say, at a park?...

...claire and i have always enjoyed worshiping God with the community of believers surrounded by God's beauty...it's brings to life the two main thematic lines in psalm 19, the first line being vv.1-6 which talk about God's revelation through nature ("the heavens declare the glory of God and the skies proclaim the work of his hands") and the second line being vv. 7-13 which talk about God's revelation through His word ("the law of the Lord is perfect, reviving the soul")...both lines converge in prayer and worship (fitting for sabbath): "may the words of my mouth and the meditation of my heart be pleasing in your sight, O Lord, my rock and my redeemer"...

...so today captured both of these lines and was thoroughly enjoyable as the english ministry went to a nearby park for sunday service and fellowship...

...but God's handiwork is not only seen in creation, in the trees and the sunshine and the breeze, as vv. 1-6 of psalm 19 says...and it's not only seen in His word, as vv. 7-13 say...God's handiwork is also seen in the faces and lives of the family of faith at inland presb church...here's are some of the handsome and lovely faces of our inland em family:

...i used to give rides to this baby-face and his older brother daniel every weekend from burbank...they were the younger brothers i never had...we had so much fun together....paul is all grown up now...he's fighting crime as a cop in sd...

...hey roy, get in the shot (instantly i feel ancient and flabby)!

...sunny sabbath always brings out the playful smiles!!!

....and the pearly whites...

...and good family time...

...opportunities to serve others...

...let's have more sunny sabbaths!!!...

...after good time at the park, claire and i headed back to inland to see griffith preach....as i wrote earlier, grif was one of my jr high students in sunday school...now he's the jr high pastor at inland...what a joy it was for me to sit and learn under his preaching....we praise God for you, grif!...some weeks may be harder than others, but keep pressing on...God is using you for his glory @ inland.
