spinning

...with our laundry spinning in the washing machine, we spent all morning and afternoon trying to learn and memorize two of the three major sets of phonetic syllabaries (or sounds) used in the japanese language: hiragana and katakana (the other is kanji)...google either of these words for a good introduction into multiple layers of the japanese language...

...whoa...like the laundry, my head is spinning...

...ah, laundry's done!...perfect time for a break from hiragana! (no sunlight, no worry -- claire can dry the clothes with her bright, radiant smile : )...

...as you may suspect, language learning is one of our prime objectives during our first 6 months (the other being building strong relationships with our new community and asian access church planting teammates)...by God's grace, coupled with your prayers and the patient guidance and encouragement of our teammates, we are making good initial progress in our language learning...please join us in praying for continued diligence and dedication (and humility) with respect to a ministry objective that will undoubtedly last a lifetime!...
