to be or not to be
...as westerners, we aren't accustomed to using public baths...but in japan, this is customary...at cpi, we wrestled with this question...to be or not to be clean...
...in the interest of sharing what we're learning of japanese culture, we'd like to show you a few of the steps involved in going to a public bath...don't worry, all of these pics are, well, clean...
...first, enter thru the curtains...

...first, enter thru the curtains...
...take off your shoes and enter the "locker room" area...
...take off your clothes or, better yet, your robe and place them in a bin...
...brush your teeth or shave...
...then shampoo, soap, and shower yourself...
...finally, soak your stress away in the hot spring water...
...you're now ready to go take on the day...you've just experienced a japanese bath!...but wait... don't forget to put your clothes back on!
