...exhibit b ::: learning about the exquisite boxes of fine foods (osechi ryori) prepared with labor and love by women in japanese households...
...small and delicate, these bite-size foods take hours to prepare, as is apparent in this colorful box exquisitely prepared by one of our church members who invited us over for new year's day dinner...
...though beautifully prepared, they are meant to be devoured...treating us like family, the kokubus made us feel more than at home...they lavished us with so much love and hospitality...
...this being japan, can't forget the sashimi (our friends were surprised that this was our first taste of japanese sashimi)...
...exhibit c ::: after dinner, mikiko-san and her daughter, izumi, had fun dressing claire in mikiko-san's colorful kimono...
...not only in its cuisine, japan's artistic skill is evident in its silks...
...enjoying her mini-vacation from school, izumi looks fab in fine linen...

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!! So much has happened since we left for CA for the holidays. I have to admit that Bobby does look like that cartoon character...and how awesome to spend new years eve listening to a symphony. We are so encouraged to see the many ways in which God has been using you. You are in our prayers! God bless!
