hometown

::: "furusato" (or "hometown") is a song filled with tender expression...set in the key of G, the melody -- comprised of quarter and eighth notes -- is simple and straightforward...the japanese have strong emotional attachment to the subtle lyrics...

first stanza

i chased rabbits on the hill
and fished carp from the river
i dream of that day, even now
how can i forget my hometown?

second stanza
how are my parents doing?
are my friends doing well?
whether it rains or the wind blows,
my hometown is what i remember

third stanza
when i reach my goals some day
i will go home to those green mountains
and that river where clear water flows

[words: takano tatsuyuki; music: okano teiichi]
