that look
::: many of our family members and dear friends have welcomed beautiful babies into their families...what joy we've found in seeing their pictures, reading blogs about the adventures of parenthood, and holding them and squeezing their tiny feet...
...equally wonderful is spending time with new parents...whether they're parents for the first time or a handful of times, i've see this look -- that psalm 139 look -- on parents' faces as they cradle their precious little ones...like a face lifting the soft glow of a midnight candle, this psalm 139 look is radiant and deep, full of awe-inspired praise and life-changed joy...
...with beauty comes a bunch of new responsibilities...every day we pray for the many parents who are adjusting to life with a little one...recently i wrote a short song that grew out of a prayer session...intended to encourage parents (and friends of parents), this song seeks to put into music the beauty of being fearfully and wonderfully made by God...
...so whether you're the proud parent of a three-month old, a thirty-three month old, or a thirty-three year old, we pray that -- in your eyes -- your daughter and/or son will always be that fearfully and wonderfully made little one...
...as with previous songs, we offer this one in the spirit of christian charity and mutual encouragement...claire and i pray that this song reminds you that God loves your psalm 139 look...

psalm 139:13-16 (english standard version)
bobbyryu (2006)
For you formed her inward parts, you knitted her
For you formed her inward parts, you knitted her
For you formed her inward parts, together in her mother's womb
For you formed his precious heart, you knitted him
For you formed his precious heart, you knitted him
For you formed his precious heart, together in his mother's womb
So I praise you
Lord I praise you
For she's fearfully, so wonderfully made
This little one is so fearfully, so wonderfully made
His frame was not hidden from you, you knew him well
His frame was not hidden from you, you knew him so well
His frame was not hidden from you, you knew him well,
in secret, in the depths of the earth
So I praise you
Lord I praise you
For he's fearfully, so wonderfully made
This little one is fearfully, so wonderfully made
Wonderful are your works, Creator God, my soul knows it very well
Wonderful are your works, Creator God, my soul knows it very well...
When she was still unformed, your eyes were on her
When he was still unformed, you formed days for him
When she was still unformed, your eyes were on her
and the days you formed were written in your book
