Family reunion

.
Relatives spread out, near and far.
Generations, multiple and mixed.
Stories, beautiful and bizarre.
.
.
Asian Access is a big family and may be, in these and many other ways, like your very own. From 5-10 March, we had a family reunion in scenic Karuizawa, Japan.
.
.
Along with the hugs and the how are you?'s, the highlights from our family reunion included:
.
.
  • Celebrating the Birdsall family with a special dinner and tribute filled with fond memories, tears, laughter, and prayer. During the fall of last year, Doug Birdsall stepped down as president of Asian Access to concentrate his energies as the Chair of the Lausanne Movement. Doug and Jeanie were our mentors while we lived in MA, studying at Gordon-Conwell Seminary. Their children, who we are so blessed to know, Stacia, Judson, and Jessamin, were able to be there too, returning to their birthplace and introducing us to the jowler.
.
  • Hearing from Janet and Earl Creps, author of Offroad Disciplines, share their wisdom as they are preparing to church plant in Berkeley, CA (Claire’s alma mater—GO BEARS!!) Hearing stories of Berkeley, brought back great memories and just warmed Claire's heart!
