College ministry has been colored with the sparks of "hello, it's nice to meet you." But there is the counterbalance: saying goodbye. We say goodbye to a lot of students, as their class or work schedules change, as they graduate, and as students head overseas to study abroad, which was the case this week with the two friends above. While we'll stay in virtual touch, we're really going to miss them. Dealing with this counterbalance hasn't been easy.

Realizing perspective -- what's partially printed on my shirt -- has been helpful. Instead of thinking, "why even invest in such liminal relationships?", perspective enlarges our hearts to celebrate the limited nature of our roles in tandem with the unlimited nature of God's wisdom and ways. Below: another celebration among dear friends passing through.
