called to trust

...we had lunch with a neat family whom we've been getting to know in the past year... their love and passion for unreached muslim peoples always rekindle our desire and prayers for the muslim world...

...our friends are currently raising support to go to muslim world and to serve in the areas of theological education and evangelism...if you're interested in supporting them, we can connect u to them...

...what struck us from our conversation was not only God's calling on their lives to leave the comforts of home in the states but also God's calling on their lives years prior to this point...in those years, God was not quite calling them to go; rather, He was calling them to trust Him and His wisdom and timing...it often seems the case that God's calling to TRUST Him as the Lord of our lives precedes His calling to GO to the mission field as witnesses of the Lord of the harvest...

...toward that end, our friends told stories of the many open and closed doors, the many opportunities that didn't pan out, the issues that had to be worked out, all of which caused them to not doubt God's calling (as one would think), but instead to trust God even more and dig their heels more firmly...

...and over the course of these many years of waiting and embracing God's calling to simply TRUST and OBEY Him, their calling to GO to such a challenging mission field was clarified and strengthened, so much so that they are eager and ready to do what -- from a human standpoint -- seems insurmountable...as claire and i were driving home from our lunch mtg, we prayed for our friends...we also praised God for His wisdom and His steadfast love in calling His people to not only go but also to trust Him...

...hope this encourages you to trust God in all that goes on in your life...
