snack attacks

because main meals are served in smaller portions, snacking is a way of life...coming from the land of super-sized portions, snack attacks have been frequent (to our stomachs) and fierce (to our wallets)...

...in our list of contenders for the ichiban (#1) snack, at this point there is one that has separated itself from the pack...

...kobe is famous in japan for their bakeries...friends have told us that french pastry chefs came to kobe over a century ago and left their mark on kobe cuisine...consequently, in nearly every shopping center or train station or street corner, you can find a bakery that makes very tasty snacks, like the potato cutlet wrapped in sweet bread topped with streaks of ketchup and mustard on top (wish i knew the japanese name for this delectable treat)...there are so many more to tell you about but...i'm getting hungry...

...wallet willing, on most days you can find me doing this sometime between 2:00 and 5:00 pm...
