Everything Korean seems to be trendy these days. It's rumored to have begun with Bae Yong Joon (below) a Korean actor who represented to Japanese women all that a man should be.

Since then, other Korean dramas, Korean-pop music, food and language has become quite the boom in Japan. Many Japanese women are flocking to tours in Korea where you can visit the sites where many dramas are filmed. Also, sold-out "concerts" where actors come and just talk about themselves on stage to their die hard fans have become quite popular.

While black gospel music has always been popular in Japan, because of the Korean boom, Korean gospel has been gaining popularity as well.

Bobby and I got to enjoy some K-Gospel from a group called Ongijangi. They come to Japan every spring to share the Good News of Jesus through their songs of praise. All of the members speak little to no Japanese, but many of their songs are translated from Korean to Japanese and all the group members can sing them perfectly in Japanese. The joy of the Lord radiated from their faces. Their upbeat songs got even the shy and inhibited audience on its feet clapping and swaying to the music.

Unfortunately, I'm not too up-to-date on my Korean drama, pop music knowledge. But Bobby and I have become just a little bit famous for our Korean cooking.
