everything is 20 minutes away

...spent most of yesterday taking care of packing for japan with claire and my mom...which meant, lots and lots of driving...they used to say that everything in l.a. is 20 minutes away, but with traffic these days, make that 40 minutes....

...some highlights of our day:

meet: mr. and mrs. ray choi....he's the best Korean autoharp player...she's skilled at repairing any stringed instrument...my mom -- once a concert pianist in Korea before immigrating to the states -- has been taking lessons from him for a couple years....she really likes the autoharp...she sings hymns while playing...ray is a faithful elder and strong supporter of missions....we thank God for mr. and mrs. choi...

...ray did a great job fixing up my precious saxes (and flute) before i take them to japan:

...got in a few frames of bowling....still can't break 100...
