worth the madness

...getting to the hollywood bowl on a friday afternoon, esp from south orange county, is madness in anyone's book....but the madness was definitely worth it last night....it was the bowl's 13th annual AFI (American Film Institute) tribute to movie scores...AFI polled some 500 directors, film critics, historians, and composers and compiled the "top 25" movie scores of all time....last night's concert was a countdown of those 25, ending with #1 (guess: answer can be found at the bottom of this post)....what made the concert so cool as a viewer (and what i imagined to be so crazy for the producers of the show) was this: film clips were synchronized with excerpts of the film scores and then shown on big-ticket projection screens...cheers to the hollywood bowl for a fantastic show....highly recommend it! (but u gotta carpool or else you'll get slammed on the parking costs; $13-14 a car)

.....the music and movie concert provided a great venue for us to greet, meet and eat with new and old friends (thanks chrisann for organizing!)...ever since we started this blog, we (okay, just me) have been camera-crazy, so we have tons of pics, but here are just a few from last night:

...here's me and steve park (a.k.a. se-jin the bear), longtime buddy from ucla...go bruins!

....and claire and christine kim: ck2 friends for life...go bears!

...and of course, on a self-serving note, me and the mrs...go bruin-bears!

answer: AFI's #1 was John Williams' score to "Star Wars"
