peace of mind

::: my (bobby's) mom flew into town from seoul, s. korea for the weekend...taking advantage of free airline miles for a short flight, she came with her trademark sunshine smile and filled our home not only with christian joy, but she also stocked our fridge full of korean goodies...

...time zoomed by, filled with laughter and tears...saying goodbye, mom told us God gave her peace of mind regarding our new lives in japan, from the big-picture things (e.g., our church family, our spiritual outlook) to the instinctual things about which only mothers seem to care, e.g., what and how we eat, where and how we do laundry and sleep, etc...a child's years never outpace a mother's love...

...from the moment she stepped into our home, we put her to work...after meeting and chatting with our awesome mentors, eric and sue...

...mom and i joined several church members in our monthly outreach (distributing thousands of leaflets in the neighborhood)...this greatly encouraged our church members...the next day being sunday, the church members told mom that they felt like she's always been part of the church family...

...an avid consumer and cook of korean cuisine, yoko enjoyed getting some inside tips from a master...
