...using google earth's nasa technology, peter had pinpointed the exact location of his childhood home in southern california...claire and i stared at the leggo-like rooftop next to a blue, lima-bean-like swimming pool...

...googling our childhood homes was one part of a wonderful evening last night...peter and wendi -- fellow asian access workers in our kansai area -- invited us over for dinner at their home...we talked, we laughed, we ate, we played games with their four beautiful children...

...but it was while we were googling our roots -- our childhood homes, our high schools, and our home churches back in the states -- that God reminded me that peter and wendi (and us for that matter) left a lot of beautiful things back home (family, friends, familiarity) in order to see something else just as beautiful: the good news of jesus extended and expressed to the unreached nation of japan (romans 10:14-16)...

...claire and i still miss home very much...our hearts are rooted there, our hopes reach for japan...by His grace, we are slowly learning to cope with this tension :::
