the importance of christian hospitality

...with the embedded word "hospital," the apostle paul's instruction in romans 12:13 to "seek to show hospitality" has obvious applications for those around us who are sick and suffering...

...today, along with two other church members, we appreciated anew the importance of christian hospitality in this vein...this morning an ailing friend had to go to the hospital...yoko picked her up and stayed with her...a ministry of presence can be meaningful to those who are suffering...later that day, we teamed up with yoko and another church member to cook dinner for this friend and her husband, both of whom are not followers of christ...

...on our drive home, claire and i were left with something oh soooo satisfying in our souls...that feeling when God's people come together and pitch their resources in christ's name to help someone who has gone to the hospital...the hospitals in japan -- and in your neighborhood -- attract people who would appreciate christian hospitality...

...not only was christian hospitality the blueprint

for the explosive spread of the gospel in paul's era,

but it remains so for our era as well...
