Where did November run off to? Sure did have swift feet. It was sprinkled with many good days, simple ones structured around connecting with God and with the people God's brought into our lives. Connecting continues to be rewarding. We've had some conversations this month with friends which lead us to believe that God may be expressing something worthwhile through us. You can never know, but these impressions have been encouraging.

There's been some bumps too. One of Claire's high school students passed university entrance exams; another didn't. God gave us several opportunities to respond to our friends' honest questions about following Jesus; but the exclusivity of the cross of Christ remains scandalous. Our church continues to be open to new paradigms of partnership, but the benefits of innovation and individuality often get lost in translation. Our prayers and hopes for starting a family will extend, with some disappointment, into the following month.

All this to say, more than ever Claire and I are so thankful for the many ways in which God encourages us to wake up in the morning and keep living for Him in partnership with our church. Your notes of friendship; your FB pokes; your packages; your phone calls; your prayers; our times together. These are some of the many ways you were here with us last month.
